What to Pack for Croatia – Summer 2025

Here’s a quick post on ideas for what to pack for a summer trip to Croatia in 2025.

Hvar is where Mediterranean ease meets just the right touch of glam. It’s sun-drenched days, cobblestone streets, cliffside beach clubs, and golden hour spritzes that somehow stretch on forever. The vibe is relaxed, but elevated. Think linen sets, breezy dresses, strappy sandals, and a couple of standout looks for late-night cocktails.

The weather is hot and sunny with warm evenings—just toss in a light layer for those occasional breezy nights.

Below are some of my recs for beach club days, easy looks for wandering town, casual dinners, and a couple of dressier nights out.

Note that in general, as you know, Sommer always leans on the more trendy, chic side, so you can definitely do so as well if you want, but Hvar did seem to lean a little more on the effortless beach casual vibe overall, so don’t feel like you have to dress to the nines, like in Monaco or Capri. (at least when I was there in 2019, so could have changed but still it won’t be that fancy).

Beach Club Outfits

With Sommer, you might end up at one of the chic beach clubs or also very possible you’ll go with them to their favorite, more family-friendly beach club on an island off the coast of Hvar. Either way, you’ll have a blast. But since you might find yourself at both, I recommend packing one more stand-out / fashion-forward beach club outfit and another more casual but still chic option, and maybe a third somewhere in between.

Here are several options from trendy/chic to slightly more casual but still elevated:

Daytime Strolls to Casual Dinners

Here are several Mediterranean casual, breezy outfits for anything from wandering the cobblestone town to casual seaside dinners. You probably won’t spend too much time in town during the day, because it’s so hot, you’ll just want to be by the beach, but it’s super charming and beautiful and lots of cute shops, so you’ll definitely want to make time to explore it! There’s a wide range of restaurants, many of which are pretty casual so you can just wear something more laid back, “effortless chic” for those.

Night Out

Hvar has quite the nightlife scene and you can definitely dress up more for a night out. You still don’t need to go like full Vegas clubbing vibe, but for sure bring 1-2 dressier options for a night on the town. I think a fun LBD would be great plus maybe one other more colorful option. (I can’t remember if I wore heels or not – I don’t think I did, just dressy sandals, but maybe confirm with Sommer).
Note: some of these could also be dressed down and work for casual dinner as well

Accessories and Such

Of course bring all the usual beachwear staples and accessories: swimsuits, hat, sandals, sunglasses, fun jewelry, beach bag, and evening bag.

Here are some options I found quickly that I thought fit the vibe, but also, I think you have options for all of these things already, so don’t feel like you have to buy anything new.

Miscellaneous

Here are a few more items that I forgot to include in the sections above and am too lazy to add back in right now, haha.
