on my recent trip to the adriatic coast, i challenged myself to pack everything for my 3 week trip in just a carry on, including an oversized travel towel! and by some miracle, i made it work.
i knew I’d be spending a lot of days lounging by the ocean, and the adriatic is known for its rocky beaches, so i needed something comfortable to lay on and those plain lightweight travel towels weren’t very appealing to me. the skova oversized travel towel that i brought ended up being perfect. it was big enough for both my boyfriend and me to sit on, plus it’s super cute! they have so many fun patterns and shapes to choose from. i particularly loved the round shape and when i saw the lemon print, i was sold.
growing up, my family and i frequented the white sandy beaches of the caribbean. the first time i went to a rocky beach was my trip to italy and the amalfi coast. i was immediately enamored with the dramatic coastline and pebble beaches shaded by colorful striped umbrellas. ever since then, i’ve been hooked. i’ll choose a rocky coastline over sandy beaches any day and the balkans offered just that. our drive into kotor bay in montenegro was stunning, with massive mountains plummeting down into the sparkling blue, winding bay of the adriatic. it’s a landscape that leaves you breathless and will stay with you forever.
we spent our days along the glittering coast of montenegro and croatia laying out on the classic stone docks that jet out into the plunging sea. they were the perfect place to drink spritzers, read, and sunbathe on my skova oversized travel towel.
i thought i might regret committing to take a towel with me on my european vacation, but it was honestly one of the items i used the most. we stayed at a mix of hotels and airbnbs and a lot of the airbnbs didn’t have cute beach towels for use, so my skova towel came in handy almost everywhere we went.
